I'm Anne-Tso.
Today, I'm a career and confidence coach, a certified systemic coach, a podcast host, an event host and the founder of The Soul Talks Club. Before that, I was a recruiter. Before that, I was in sales. Before that, I had a lot of talents and no idea what to do with them.
My path has never been a straight line.
I grew up in a small town in Germany where I never quite felt like I fit in. I moved to Cologne to study business psychology and international culture and management, still looking for what I was supposed to do with the things I was good at.
I could talk to anyone, present anything, hold a room. What I struggled with was being bad at something in front of people, and being good at so many things made it almost impossible to choose just one.
I moved to Canada and found sales, selling high-ticket events to business leaders and business owners. Then the pandemic hit, and the business model I'd built my income around had to be rethought overnight. That was the first time I understood I couldn't build my life around one nine-to-five. I tried digital products, dropshipping and social media, and started managing content for creator friends.
By the end of my twenties, I was back in Germany, asking what I actually wanted to work as. I went into recruitment and learned the German job market from the inside, placing candidates with companies including Miele, REWE, Congstar and RTL. There's real meaning in helping someone change the trajectory of their life, and I got to be part of that again and again.
But recruitment also showed me the other side. I could find the right candidate and make a company money, while other applicants, some straight out of university, some twenty-five years into a career with status and no fulfilment, were still stuck, still struggling to translate what they knew into language a hiring manager could understand. That's where the idea of becoming a coach started. I trained as a certified systemic coach so I could work with people directly, and that's where I found the part of this work I actually thrive in.
Coaching isn't the whole story either. I still sing, act and host. It all runs through the same thing: my voice, pointed in different directions depending on the day. Somewhere along the way I came across the term "portfolio career," and it named something I'd felt for years: I was never going to fit in one box, and I didn't have to. Neither do my clients.
Getting the next job is not always the real question.
Sometimes the real question is what kind of work fits the person you are becoming. I don't believe everyone needs to quit their job or become an entrepreneur. I believe women need the space, information and confidence to decide what is right for them.
Salt + Light Co. is grounded in truth, strategy and faith.
"You are the salt of the earth... you are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:13-16). That's where the name comes from. Social injustice has always sat heavy on my heart, and I see myself as a door opener, a bridge and a waymaker. That's why this is a faith-led coaching business, built especially for women, because I've seen firsthand how much harder the workplace can be for women looking for a job and trying to position themselves for one.
